CURRICULUM VITAE
Da'Lene DePriest
My mission is to empower individuals to find their unique artistic voice, cultivating a sense of community and collaboration among my students. With a strong foundation in both traditional and contemporary art practices, I am always eager to embark on new artistic ventures, continuously growing as an artist and inspiring others on their artistic journey.

My Journey
I possess a diverse skill set and a passion for exploring the world of art in both two and three-dimensional forms. My artistic journey has been marked by continuous growth, experimentation, and the acquisition of various techniques, allowing me to express my creativity in a wide range of mediums.
In the realm of two-dimensional art, I have honed my expertise in traditional mediums such as drawing, painting, and printmaking. I find joy in using color, light, and shadow to convey emotions and narratives, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the art and interpret it in their own unique ways.
Furthermore, my dedication to the craft extends into the world of three-dimensional art. Working with materials such as clay, wood, metal, and mixed media, I have crafted intricate sculptures and installations that transcend the boundaries of ordinary objects. My sculptures breathe life into the materials, unveiling narratives, and evoking a sense of wonder in the audience. This three-dimensional approach has allowed me to explore texture, form, and spatial relationships, bringing a new dimension to my artistic expression.
As an instructor, my main focus lies in fostering creative expression and communication through art. I firmly believe in the power of art as a universal language that transcends cultural barriers, enabling individuals to express themselves authentically. Whether teaching in a formal setting or conducting workshops in the community, I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students of all ages and skill levels can explore their creativity freely.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have developed effective techniques to encourage students to discover their unique artistic voice. By providing constructive feedback, nurturing individual strengths, and guiding them through various artistic processes, I empower my students to explore their creativity fearlessly. Additionally, I believe in fostering a sense of community among my students, encouraging them to collaborate, share ideas, and learn from one another's diverse perspectives.
In conclusion, I am an adaptable and passionate artist/maker/instructor, well-versed in two and three-dimensional art forms. My commitment to fostering creative expression and communication through art drives me to continue growing as an artist and mentor. With a strong foundation in both traditional and contemporary art practices, I am always eager to embark on new artistic ventures and inspire others on their artistic journey.
